Rheeda has come to life!
Updated: Oct 21
Character Development: Rheeda
Initial Concept
Rheeda, the 9-year-old little sister of main character Ramona, was originally envisioned as a proper-looking girl. Her initial design featured neatly combed hair, a tidy dress, and polished shoes. This portrayal aimed to reflect a sense of innocence and decorum, fitting for a younger sibling in a traditional setting.
Evolution of Personality
As the character concept evolved, we realized that Rheeda's personality needed to be more dynamic and relatable. We decided to embrace her hyperactive nature, transforming her from a prim and proper girl into a vibrant, adventurous spirit. This change allowed her to embody the essence of childhood—full of energy, curiosity, and a penchant for exploration.
Physical Appearance
With her new personality in mind, Rheeda's appearance underwent significant changes. She became a girl who could often be found with dirt smudges on her cheeks, messy hair that no ribbon could tie, and a wardrobe that reflected her love for the outdoors. Her clothes were practical and rugged, made for climbing trees and playing in mud and wheat fields.
Favorite Activities
Rheeda's love for adventure led her to discover a fascination with fireflies. This passion became a defining trait of her character. She often spends her evenings chasing these glowing insects, capturing them in jars to use as makeshift lanterns (they also help her sleep when used as a night light). This activity not only showcases her playful spirit but also adds a whimsical element to her character.
